James Sortor Design LLC
Thank you for visiting this webpage where we sell our handmade knives. The entire process from design, manufacture, sales, and service is all carried out here in Connecticut USA. We do everything in house to maintain complete control over the process, including heat-treating our own blades.
We also provide a sharpening service, locally. Contact us for more info.
We focus on everyday knives for use at work or in the kitchen. The kind of knives you pickup to use multiple times each and every day. Good tough reliable blades to get the job done. We do not use a lot of exotic materials in our knives. AEB-L stainless steel and Micarta are the most common materials we use. These are rock solid and reliable materials that make for great knives at a reasonable price. Read more about AEB-L Steel. Occasionally we make something fancy using more exotic materials, either by request or just for fun.
The knives listed in the available section above and in The Store are ready for immediate purchase. The stock changes regularly so check back often. You can also subscribe to my periodic newsletter to be informed of newly added items and news updates.
If you see something on the gallery page or the sold items page that you would like to own, just contact us and we can make you what you need. Some knives are listed with leather sheaths others are not. We can make a leather sheath for any of our knives, right here in-house.
